Rockwell Collins & Zen Technologies Jointly Debut Next-Gen Rotary-Wing Simulator
A new next-generation, military rotary-wing simulator has been unveiled at Aero India 2015 by Rockwell Collins and Zen Technologies. As a joint venture, the two companies have partnered to offer innovative and high-fidelity military flight simulation solutions. The new Rotary Wing Simulator is a flexible, cost-effective way for training on situations such as routine flights, emergencies, and practice missions.
Housed in an ergonomically constructed cockpit, the simulator is customizable and addresses the flight and mission aspects of
rotary wing aircraft. Realistic training is the primary feature of the simulator. The system uses geo-specific terrains, operations flight profiles, and avionics for optimal pre-mission training. In addition, combat preparation will be increased as the system includes an in-depth, customizable training range. The system was developed and delivered in a short time frame of four months with both companies looking to become primary partners to the Indian armed forces. Zen Technologies is a producer of training
equipment and simulators for weapons and allied defense platforms.
Founded in 1993, the company is headquartered in Hyderabad and has supplied over 450 simulators to over 100 customers. Primary customers include the three armed forces along with the State and Central Police Forces of India. Fully recognized by the Government of India, the Zen’s R&D branch maintains a close relationship with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research and Ministry of Science and Technology. Rockwell Collins is a
manufacturer of avionics and information technology systems. Primarily serving government agencies and
aircraft manufacturers, Rockwell Collins is one of the largest aerospace and defense companies in the world. The company was founded in 1933 as a designer and producer of equipment for the shortwave radio and AM broadcast industries.
