Embraer Executive Jets has recently opened up their expanded assembly facility in Melbourne, Florida, as the company has decided to add the Legacy 450 aircraft and Legacy 500 aircraft production on to the already existing Phenom 100 aircraft and Phenom 300 aircraft production line. The official opening was held in a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 2 at the enlarged production facility.

Cessna Aircraft Company, the American general aviation manufacturing corporation headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, has recently announced at the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACA) that the company has successfully finished the fuselage and wing mate for the very first Cessna Citation Longitude. This accomplishment comes just six months after the announcement of the new aircraft. This milestone is a significant mark in the production of this leading class aircraft, which is expected to take is maiden flight this summer with potential entry into service in 2017.

VPT Inc. has announced that they will be introducing the HTD Series of DC-DC converters in the iMAPS International Conference on High Temperature Electronics at HiTEC 2016 show. The HTD Series of DC-DC converters leverages VPT’s high-reliability power supply design heritage and is specifically designed to handle extreme temperatures and harsh environments which includes but is not exclusive to aircraft engine electronics and avionics along with a myriad of other industrial applications which would require reliable operation in these extreme temperatures and harsh environments.

Comlux has recently signed a contract to purchase Bombardier’s Global 6000 business jet for its VIP charter division Fly Columbus. Presently, Comlux operates six other Bombardier businesses jets that include the Global 5000, Global 6000, Challenger 605, and Challenger 850. The purchase will secure the firm’s role as a prominent provider in Europe, Central Asia, Russia and the Middle East.

GE Aviation, a subsidiary of General Electric and one of the world’s leading aircraft engine suppliers, has recently announced that RUAG Aviation has been selected as an authorized service center (ASC) for General Electric’s CF-34-10E engines. GE Aviation offers engines for a great majority of commercial aircrafts and first approached RUAG Aviation in February of 2016 with its requirements for an expedited approval process. RUAG Aviation designs, develops, and manufacturers mainly precision components and structural assemblies using the most recent technologies for the machinery industry as well as the aerospace industry. RUAG Aviation is the Aviation Division of RUAG, the Swiss technology group.

Malaysia Airlines Berhad, the flag carrier of Malaysia and a member of the oneworld airline alliance, has recently announced that they will be adding two additional new Airbus A350-900s with Air Lease Corporation (ALC). These new aircrafts are anticipated to be delivered in 2018. The company recently said that they have opted for the lease option with a 12 year lease agreement for both of the new airplanes.

Emirates, an airline based in Dubai and Investec Bank, an international specialist banking and asset management group join forces to finance two new Airbus A380 jets, owned by Emirates and two others from Stellwagen Finance.  After the purchase they will then lease the planes back to Emirates for 12 years.

On April 29, 2016 in Istanbul, Boeing notified the general public of a new deal between Boeing and Turkey’s Turkish Airlines. Boeing will be delivering a record high of 26 airplanes this year to Turkey’s largest carrier, Turkish Airlines. They will be providing six 777-300ERS and twenty Next Generation 737-800s this year.

Boeing as secured an order from Pegasus Airlines for five of their Next-Generation Boeing 737-800s in a gargantuan deal valued at roughly $505 million dollars which is the expected list price at the time of delivery. Presently, Pegasus Airlines and their subsidiaries, Air Mans and Izair, operate a fleet of 58 B737-800s out 69 total aircrafts that they employ.

Today Airbus inks a long-term agreement with Triumph Actuation Systems to continue to produce its landing gear actuation systems for the A320ceo and the A320neo aircraft. With a reported $500 million dollars on the table for the deal, Triumph Group will continue to produce the actuation systems which includes actuators, valves and uplocks. And while this will be handled at Triumph Group’s facility in Deeside, Flintshire, UK, the aftermarket support will actually be provided from Staverton, Gloucestershire facility. Triumph Group’s core competency includes designing, engineering, manufacturing, repair and overhauling aerostructures, aircraft components, accessories as well as subassemblies and systems.

In September of 2015, Airbus officially opened their very first US based production facility in Mobile Alabama. Fast forward seven months and the company is on the verge of delivering their first US built A321 passenger jet. Airbus has spent over $600 million erecting the Mobile production facility, and soon they will finally begin to see returns on their massive investment. New York based Jet Blue airlines is set to receive this initial A321 on in a ceremony attended by executives from both companies on April 25th.

The Boeing Company has recently selected a new seat supplier for their 737 aircraft, which is their most popular aircraft. According to a Reuters report, the Boeing Company has said that they have already selected eleven suppliers for economy seats, although, there will only be one company to sell seats directly to Boeing for the 737 Next Generation aircraft as well as its successor, the 737 MAX Aircraft. LIFT by EnCore, a California-based firm, will be directly supplying Boeing with their latest Tourist Class Seating for both the Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft and the upcoming MAX variant, which is currently in development. According to the Reuters report, the other suppliers will be selling seats to airlines, which has been a longtime business practice that allows airline carriers to customize their cabins to their own preferences.

On March 29th, 2016, Embraer Commercial Aviation released news that it will take delivery of approximately 720 new jets that will be in the Latin America market. All of these 720 new jets will have a seat segment of as low as 70 and as high as 130 seat segment for the next 20 years. This seat segment number accurately reflects the 11 percent of the global demand for segments in this period.

In Palmdale at a facility hangar, a 120-foot-long dirigible that stands 21-foot-tall and calls to mind a cloud with three puffs lies hidden from the public view. It is yet another in a long line of sleek and secretive aircrafts that Skunk Works is working on. Textron Aviation, the general aviation business unit of the American Textron group, has recently been working towards creating a super-midsized jet named the Cessna Citation Longitude. This new aircraft is anticipated to be valued at $23.9 million, and currently seems to have relatively few development risks.
